En na alweer een drukke week is het weer weekend! Ik ben altijd een beetje opgelucht als alle feestdagen weer voorbij zijn- als december voorbij is, eigenlijk. 1 december begint al met twee verjaardagen in de familie, dan één op de twaalfde, de 22e, Kerst op de 25e en 26e, een verjaardag op de 26e die meestal op de 27e wordt gevierd, dan Oud&Nieuw, nog even 1 januari door en iedereen een gelukkig nieuwjaar wensen en dan… rust! Deze maand was extra druk voor me, omdat ik ook veel weg ben geweest. Ik merk aan mijn lichaam (en mijn hoofd) dat het misschien wel een beetje té druk was. Dus januari wordt een maand van uitrusten, nieuwe kracht opdoen en dankbaar zijn voor een nieuw jaar. Maar nu eerst genieten van het weekend! En natuurlijk van alles wat ik weer heb gevonden op het wereld wijde web. Het was weer niet zoveel, want hoewel ik me door ruim 300 (!) blogs heen heb geworsteld, ging het merendeel over Kerst, en ik denk dat we daar nu even niet meer van alles over hoeven te lezen. Dus vandaag veel moois van Instagram en een paar artikeltjes die ik wil delen:-)
And after another busy week it’s Weekend again! I’m always a little relieved when the holidays are over – when December is over, really. December 1st starts with two birthdays in the family, then follows one on the 12th, the 22nd, Christmas on the 25th and 26th, a birthday on the 26th that’s usually celebrated the 27th, then Newyears, rushing trough the 1st of January to wish everyone a happy new year and then… peace! This month was extra busy for me, because I’ve been away a lot. I can tell from my body (and my head) that it was maybe a little too busy. So January will be a month of resting, gaining new strength and being grateful for a new year. But first things first: enjoying the weekend! And of course everything I found again on the World Wide Web. It wasn’t so much again because, although I wrestled my way trough over 300 (!) blogs, most of them were about Christmas, and I don’t think we have to read about that for a little while now. So today lots of goodness from Instagram and a few articles I wanted to share:-)

Ann Voskamp van A Holy Experience schreef een artikel aan de vooravond van het nieuwe jaar. Ze is aan de telefoon met een vriendin en die vraagt haar waarom ze niet naar het oudejaarsfeest van de kerk komt. Ann zegt dat ze gewoon niet klaar is voor een nieuw jaar, dat ze zoveel fouten heeft gemaakt in het oude dat ze een nieuwe ronde met nieuwe kansen wil. Ze denkt dan aan haar dochter, die een piano-opvoering had. De eerste noten gingen verkeerd. Maar ze begon niet opnieuw, deed het niet over, maar speelde door. Heel mooi om te lezen! Ann Voskamp of A Holy Experience wrote an article on the brink of the new year. She was on the phone with a friend who asks her why she’s not coming to the new years party of their church. Ann says she just isn’t ready for a new year, that she has made so much mistakes in the old one and that she wants another try at it. Then she thinks of her daughter, who had a piano recital.
